Update: Durable Infant or Toddler products June 24, 2009 The Commissioners of the Consumer Product Safety Commission have voted to publish without change a proposed rule drafted by CPSC staff on requirements for consumer registration of durable infant or toddler products, as required by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA).
Proposed Rule Would Require Consumer Forms, Recordkeeping, Permanent Marks
Among other things, the proposed rule would require manufacturers of durable infant or toddler products to provide consumers with registration forms with each such product, keep records of consumers’ contact information, and permanently mark their products with certain identifying information.
